"Hiram Baldwin died at his home in this village Monday evening at a quarter past six, aged 71 years. He was born in the Town of Meredith,1834 and has lived in this town and worked at the blacksmith trade a large portion of his life. He was a good workman, a member of the Presbyterian church, he being one of its elders, and was active in all of his church duties. Deceased was much respected by all who knew him. He was twice married. His first wife was Mary Edwards. He is survived by three children, George Baldwin of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. William Barney of this village, and Mrs. Lillian Alderman of Hamilton, New York. Deceased is also survived by his second, wife, who was Mary Barney and by three brothers and two sisters, Charles of Illinois, Herbert of Franklin, William of this village, Mrs, Helen Beagle of this village, and Mrs. Alfred Phelps of Franklin. He was a soldier in the Civil War and a member of the C. A. Shepherd post. His funeral was held at the house Thursday at half past one. Sermon being by the Rev. J. S.
