ADKINS, JAMES "LOUIE", SR., age 80, of Leeds, died January 28, 2006. He was a member of the Shriners and the Moody Masonic Lodge. Diverse businessman and played an active roll in politics under the Wallace administration. Served on the corporate staff of the Jim Walter Corporation. Lobbyist for the Ophthalmologist for over 13 years and played an integral part of the Helen Keller Eye Foundation and Veterans Memorial on I-459. Survivors include daughters, Sylvia Page, Brenda Graffeo, Karla Sisson and Anne Scoggin; sons, Jimmy Adkins and Joey Adkins; wife, Karleen B. Adkins; sister, Lunetta Newton; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Kilgroe, Leeds, Chapel. Visitation was held Monday, January 30 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Helen Keller eye Research Foundation for the Blind.
