I Willis G Cousins of the county of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia being in bad health but a sound mind and disproving memory so hearby pronunce this my last will and testatement.
! 1st I give unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Cousins all the property I may posses at my death both real and personal to have and to hold this same during her life or widow hood and in the event she should marry again then it is my will that all my property be equally divided among my children to wit. Richard H Cousins, Ann C Bousman, Francis R Cousins, Henry C Cousins,Phebe H Cousins, John C Cousins, Chastain Cousins, and Elizabeth R Cousins. And I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth Cousins my administrator to carry into affice this my last will and testament and I do hearby ask the permission of the court to allow her to administrater without requiring her to give security. In testimony I have hereunto my hand and seal this day 18th day of June 1855 Willis G Cousins
Land is located on north 41 at 57 east in Pittsylvania co VA !At a county court held for the county of Pittsylvania on the 16th day of
February 1857. A writing bearing date the 18th day of June 1855 perporting tobe the last will and testemant of Willis G Cousins dec'd was produced in court and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court from the testimony of Thomas R McDearman & Alexander H Rogers that the said writing is wholly in the hand writing of the said Cousins, it is ordered that the said writing be recorded.
! ---- at another day to wit At a county court held for the said county on the 16th day of March 1857 on the motion of Elizabeth Cousins named as exector of Willis G Cousins dec'd in his last will and testement who he made oath with Nathanil R Royall and Vincent Witcher as her surities who made oath do here suffiency entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penally of eight thousand dollars, conditioned according to law. Certificate is granted her for obtaining probate afraid will indue form. Tester S Scruggs ck
