Nov 15, 2011 Doris Irene Hackler Gayle Williams went home to be with her heavenly Father on Nov. 13, 2011. She died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Vicksburg.
Doris was born July 11, 1932, in the Oak Ridge community. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Hagaman Gayle in 1965; her mother, Maggie Leist Hackler Dixon in 1996; her father, Robert Lee Hackler in 1937; and three brothers, Albert Lee Hackler in 1952, James Ervin Dixon in 2010 and Maurice Ervin Dixon Jr. in 2000.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Sue Lumbley and husband Ken and her son, Jimmy Wayne Gayle; four grandchildren, Jennifer Gayle Lusby, Jimmy Wayne (Bo) Gayle, Jeremy Morgan Herring and Madison Danielle Lumbley; four great-grandchildren, Falyn Lusby, Taryn Lusby, McKinley Gayle and Madisyn Gayle; three sisters, Vera Snow of Creston, Ohio, Mary Barbara "Bobbye" Dunn and Martha Boone (David), all of Vicksburg; and one brother, Lonnie Ray Dixon (Beverly) of Florissant, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Clements officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Herring, Bo Gayle, James Lusby, David Smith, George Dixon and Jim Dixon.
