Plymouth – James H. Last, prominent local business man, died here yesterday noon at the Plymouth hospital after a short illness. Mr. Last was born August 11, 1880, at Green Bay and came to Plymouth as a young man. He was married to Miss Addie Vande Walker in Oshkosh October 24, 1906, and after residing in Plymouth a short time following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Last moved to Kiel. After that they lived in Menasha and Minneapolis and ten years ago returned to Plymouth where they have lived ever since.
As manager of the Dairy State cold Storage, Mr. Last took an active interest in business and civic affairs of the community. He was past president of the local Kiwanis club and was a member of Cassa lodge No 167, F & AM.
He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Dorothy; three sisters, Mrs. V. D. Atwood of Minneapolis, Mrs. E. A Irwin of Buchanan, Mich., Mrs. Ben Chamberlin of Three Oaks, Mich.; and one brother, John of Milwaukee.
Mrs. Last was taken to the hospital only last Friday where he submitted to an operation. Christian Science services will be held with burial in Union cemetery.
