Anne Hopkins, age 76, of Fayetteville, Arkansas and formally of Evansville, Indiana, died Sunday, June 21, 1942, in Fayetteville.

She was born in December 13, 1865, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Malcomb and Jane Welch (Gordon) McDowell.

She was married twice:

1) November 18, 1885, Cook County,Illinois - Herman Rogers Powers (1863-1901, s/o Herman & Sarah E, Throop Powers). They were the parents of three children. He died about 1901.

2) September 20, 1904, Chicago, Illinois - Eugene Owen McDowell (1874-1948, s/o Isaac Alonzo & Effie Kate Sommers Hopkins). They were the parents of a son.

She was predecesed by her parents; her first husband; and five siblings, Archibald Gordon McDowell, Mary Eliza McDowell, Jennie Gordon McDowell, Gordon McDowell and Hanson McDowell.

Survivors include her husband, Col. Eugene Owen Hopkins; three sons, Eugene Stephen Hopkins, Herman Troop Powers and Etheridge Powers; a daughter, Anne Powers Neilson; and a brother Irvin McDowell.

Burial is Tuesday, June 23, 1942 in the National Cemetery at Fayetteville.
