FORT WORTH - Walter E. Allen, a retired electronics technician for General Dynamics, died Wednesday at his Fort Worth home. He was 78.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Highland Church of Christ, where he was a member. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Allen was born in Corpus Christi and had lived in Whitney and Maypearl before moving to Fort Worth in 1943.

Survivors: Wife for 51 years, Lelia Allen of Fort Worth; two sons, Jim Allen of Fort Worth and George M. Allen of Crowley; two daughters, Nancy Jackson of Walnut Springs and Paula Ashbrook of Burleson; mother, Verbia Allen of Whitney; two sisters, Opal Haney of Fort Worth and France Middlebrook of Whitney; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
