Henrietta Joyce or Mrs Darrell Joyce is nee, Henrietta C. Bedinger ["Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-1994," index and images, FamilySearch ... MM9.1.1/X879-C52, acc. 02 Dec 2012), Darrell Joyce and Henrietta C. Bedinger, 1898; citing ref p 523, FHL mf 355780]. No issue are listed with them in the 1910, 1920 federal censuses of Ohio. We learn that she is a descendant of the Elias Hedges family, Hedges Cemetery, via the grouping of relatives attending "Elizabeth Sater Turner, Harriett Bedinger, Henrietta C Joyce, Darrell Joyce, Hamilton, [Butler] Ohio" in the One Hundredth Anniversary newspaper article, Venice Graphic newspaper (about which I have written elsewhere). Cross referencing this entry with p38, The Cilley Genealogy, by JP Cilley of Rockland, a slim green book, points to family number 697, Harriet Cilley, b. 1844 as probably being her mother; here JP Cilley, author tells us that Harriet had three children with her first Bedinger husband, one named Henrietta Clay Bedinger, born 10 Aug 1866. 1866 matches the birth year given on her Venice Cemetery tombstone. Incredibly, the Lane Public Library has posted on its Jr. Achievement of Greater Butler Co OH Hall of Fame, a 2002 award to Darrell Joyce, dcd (b. 1874, Venice OH), Superintendent of the Hamilton Board of Education; the honor to him is due to a gift of land from her ("In 1955, nearly 20 years after his death, Mrs. Joyce donated 227 acres of land to Hamilton. The area, along with subsequent gifts from the family was renamed Darrell Joyce Park."). Were Henrietta's 227 acres if in her name, inherited from her grandfathers' (Elias Hedges & or Jonathan Cilley), say c1805 purchases? It is Elizabeth James Adams Tehan, cousin, dcd, who tells us her death date of 4 Mar 1960, Hamilton, Ohio [1pg mss, 1966]. Bio by findagraver, DBardes.
