JIM HIGH, SR. RITES WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY

James Allen "Jim" High, Sr., president of High's Insurance Agency who was a prominent civic leader in Tupelo for a number of years, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday in Community Hospital after an illness of a year. He was 52.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Blanton Doggett officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. High served two years as chairman of the board of stewards of First Methodist Church; was past president of Tupelo Rotary Club; was past chairman of the Community Food Drive here; served on the board of North Mississippi Community Hospital and the board of Crippled Adults Hospital of Memphis; was National Council representative of Boy Scouts of America; served on Yocona Council executive board; and had been in the insurance business in Tupelo since 1933.

During W.W. II he served with the U. S. Air Force in the Philippines.

He was the son of Mrs. S. J. High of Tupelo and the late Mr. High, who was a widely known Tupelo businessman. His grandfather, "Private" John Allen, served in the U. S. Congress from this district and was instrumental in getting the U. S. Fish Hatchery
