A heart ailment which he suffered for the past several weeks, last evening at 8 o'clock claimed the life of John Kieselhorst, 71, a life-long resident of Manitowoc. Death occurred at the family home.
Mr. Kieselhorst was born in the town of Liberty on March 24, 1860 and spent nearly all of his life in the township of Newton where the family moved when he was a boy. On November 3, 1885, he married Miss Minnie Kiesow who with five children, Henry of Newton, Mrs. Albert Mathias, Neenah; Mrs. Arthur Vetting, Newton; Mrs. Reinhold Rusch, Liberty and Edwin at home; two brothers, Charles and Herman Kieselhorst, Manitowoc and three sisters, Mrs. John Ladwig, Newton; Mrs. Louis Lippert, Valders and Mrs. August Lippert, Manitowoc survive him. Nine grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Kieselhorst enjoyed excellent health during his entire lifetime and it was noticed only within the past few weeks that his health was failing but he was up and about until immediately before his death.
Funeral services will be held from the home on Manitowoc, Route 1, at 1 o'clock and at 2 o'clock from the Lutheran church at Newton on Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Kionka officiating. Interment will take place at the church cemetery in the township of Newton.
