Elva Iretta Mott Long Smith, age 81, of Roosevelt, died November 11, 2011 at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City. She was born December 14, 1929 in Myton to Marion Othello and Iretta Christensen Mott.
She married Harvey Glenn Long, July 23, 1946, in Myton. He died March 30, 1978. Married Donald B. Smith March 6, 1982 in Ogden, he died October 31, 2004.
Elva loved to cook and was excellent at making good home made food. She cooked for Stewart's nursing home years ago. She enjoyed traveling and wintering in Salome, Arizona with Don for many years. Elva was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Elva is survived by 8 children, Rae (Waymond "Kelly") Stone, West Valley; Marion (Margie) Long, Slaterville; Danny (Heidi) Long, LaPoint; Wesley (Connie) Long, West Haven; David (Shauna) Long, Purcell, OK; Wayne (Tami) Long, Lehi; Debbie (David) Clark, Roosevelt; and Becky (Ellis) Muir, Duchesne; many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Van, Altamont; and Margie Stoker, Salome, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Glenn Long, a son, Harvey Lynn Long, and brothers and sisters, Gladys Stoker, Thelda Malone; Dorothy Ivie, Wentworth Mott, Albert Mott and Roy Mott; grandchildren, Heather Long and Amy Jo Long.
Funeral services held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Hullinger Mortuary where there will be a viewing Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm and Thursday 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
