Ruth Ellen Taylor Haney

WALDORF, Md. — Ruth Ellen Taylor Haney, 79, of Waldorf died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in her home while surrounded by family.

Born in Parsonsburg on June 5, 1932, Ruth was a daughter of the late Charles Jenifer Taylor and Helen Winifred Taylor of Parsonsburg.

While she was raised in Parsonsburg, Ruth spent most of her married life in Waldorf. She was the owner of Ruth's Ceramics from 1958-73. She started JRJ Income Tax Service in 1981 with her husband, Richard. She owned and successfully ran JRJ for 30 years with her three children, who currently run the business.

Ruth continuously demonstrated and shared Christ's love with others and believed in being very direct when it came to what was right in God's eyes. Ruth had a smile that would light up anyone's heart. She truly loved her family, friends, employees and all of her tax clients. She looked forward to every tax season and loved life to the fullest.

She was a natural born leader who just knew how to get things done, while at the same time faithfully mentoring those who she worked with. During the final few weeks of fighting her illness, Ruth was visited by many of her friends, family and employees, all of whom shared heartfelt testimony to Ruth's kindness, generosity, integrity, and her care, compassion and concern for them.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Bradley Richard Haney Sr. of Waldorf; daughters, Pamela Sue Hans (Robert Hans) of Waldorf and Jennifer Louise Warffemius of Waldorf; daughter-in-law, Donna Haney of Delmar; sister, Grace Davis of Wango, Md.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
