RAYMOND C OPPER SR
Raymond C. Opper, Sr., 93, 520 Park Ave., Brokaw, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1992, at the Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
He was born Sept. 1, 1898, in Birnamwood, the son of the late Adam and Ida (Hetzel) Opper.
He married Lillian Paulus on June 19, 1920. She preceded him in death Feb. 1, 1961. He then married Armintha Sillars in June of 1965. She survives.
He was employed by Wausau paper Co. in Brokaw until his retirement in 1963. He then worked at Wausau Cab Co. for 10 years.
Survivors, including his wife, are four sons: Gilbert (Betty) Opper, Wausau, Leroy (Lil) Opper, Orlando, Fla., Kenneth (Jean) Opper, Wausau, and Allen (Charlette) Opper, town of Maine, four daughters: Violet (Loyal) LeMere, Wausau, Irene Blunt, Milwaukee, LuAnn (Harry) Spanton, Wausau, and Barbara (Michael) Ermeling, Weston; a step-daughter, Gertrude (Wes) Wendorf, Rothschild; a step-son, Augus(Jo) Brookhyser, Brokaw; a sister, Bernice (Joe) Mautino, Tomah; 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters, his son Raymond Opper, Jr. and his grandson, Raymond Opper III.
The Rev. William Kaseman will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau. (Wausau Daily Herald, WI-Sat, Jan 18, 1992)
