Lydia was born March 21, 1930 to Ross and Lena Forshee Hopping. Surving are one brother, Eugene (and Inelda) Hopping, of Galesburg; her step mother Lavina Hopping of Abingdon, with who she made her home; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.
She was preceeded in death by her parents.
She had lived in Abingdon most of her life where she attended school. She worked in housekeeping at the Abingdon Nursing Home for 17 years. She attended Abingdon Assembly of God.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Abingdon Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before service on Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon chapel.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
