I frank Ankenbrandt, 67, Arlington, former treasurer and chairman of the Columbia county Republican party for several years died Wednesday [August 5, 1964] in a Portage hospital after an illness.
He was a long-time bowler, member of the Madison and Portage bowling associations, and a former operator of a bowling establishment in Portage.
He also was a retired farmer. Born near Baraboo, he lived in the Arlington area since 1935. In 1936 he married Edna Bell. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and of the Portage Kiwanis club.
Arrangements are pending at the Hamre funeral home, Arlington, where friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday.
Surviving is his wife.
