Arlis Elbert McGehee entered eternal life on Nov. 15, 2011. He was born on Oct. 1, 1957, son of Rev. Clifford Fornie MGehee and Georgia Maxine (Sumpter) McGehee.
Arlis was born in Frankfurt, Germany and grew up in the Carrollton Community. He was a 1975 graduate of Green Forest High School where he played on the Tigers football team. He was a member of Osage Assembly of God Church and had served as both Deacon and Superintendent for a number of years. He had been a member of the Carroll County Board of Education. Arlis was self-employed in sales and marketing and had just won the #1 Recruiter for Global Health and Safety, LLC. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The word stranger was not in Arlis' vocabulary, he was always ready with a smile and conversation.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Patti Lynn (Miller) McGehee; three sons, Brandan McGehee and wife Stephanie of Basehar, KS, Eric McGehee and wife Brittany of Ozark, MO, Justin McGehee and wife April of Castleton, ND; and one daughter, Courtney Smith and husband Aubry of Alpena; grandchildren, Tristan, Tailey, Kylee, Paige, Jaysen, Zoey, Caden, Ryleigh and Karter; one brother, Carl McGehee and wife Kathy of Green Forest; one sister, Janice Knight of Alpena and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fornie McGehee; maternal grandparents, Ruby and Jesse Sumpter and paternal grandparents, Clifford and Jewel McGehee.

Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Pastor Gerry Bryant and Brother Elvin Still will officiate with interment at Alpena Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Celebration of Life service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Interment will be at Alpena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the funeral home.
