George Brake

George E. Brake was born March 11, 1919, in Elkins, WV, a son of Robert and Eva Louise Frame Brake. He married first Mary Blackshear on 4 May 1937, and later, Barbara A. Boyers.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years; one daughter, Nancy C. vonBrecht; three stepchildren, Teresa (Bob) Coffman, William Keith (Kathy) Watkins and Paul Rick Watkins and his companion, Lisa Novak; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert G. (Eleanor) Brake; one sister Norma Cook; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Frances Blackshear; one son, Danny Edward Brake; daughter, Elizabeth Inez Hargett, daughter Nancy C. Von Brecht and one sister, Marian Eads.
He served in the Army during World War II.Service Date: 15 Oct 1942
PFC, U.S. Army, George went to England; France; Belgum; Holland and Germany. Awarded Combat Medal and five Campaign stars.
