HAMILTON PERCY HOBKIRK
San Juan Prospector dated March 24, 1905
Hamilton Percy Hobkirk died at the hospital in Pueblo Sunday, March 19, 1905. Mr. Hobkirk was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edwards Island June 25, 1858, and he came to Del Norte in 1884. In 1893 he was elected to the office of sheriff and re-elected in 1895.
In 1901 he assumed the duties of receiver of the U.S. Land Office in Del Norte and continued in that position until Sept. of last year when Mr. Hobkirk contracted small pox and complications as a result of the disease.
Mr. Hobkirk was a member of the Creede Lodge B.P.O.E. and that order conducted services held on Tuesday of this week. He leaves a widow and one daughter.

His widow, Mary F. Hobkirk died in Marion, Oregon 01 Feb 1946. No burial information was found. Hamilton's daughter, Mary L. Hobkirk was born 8/1888 in Colorado. No further information was found about her. pwc
