"OLD CLINTON RESIDENT PASSES ON"
Augustus B. VanDeMark died at his home in Clinton Friday afternoon, aged 81 years.
Mr. VanDeMark was one of Clinton's oldest and most highly respected citizens. The hardware and implement business, which he conducted for over 50 years, and which is now owned by his son Fred G., is the oldest business firm of this place.
He had been in failing health for several years and confined to his home since last winter.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Fred G., two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Addie Wells, all of this place. Funeral services were held at the house Monday at 8 o'clock conducted by Rev. J.J.Preston of St. Johns church.
The services at Riverside Cemetery were conducted by the Masonic order of which Mr. VanDeMark was a member for nearly 50 years.
