Marion F. Gann

Marion Fredrick Gann was born in Itwamba County Mississippi August 30, 1858 and died at his home at 6:10 a.m. March 31, 1927. In early boyhood he was converted and joined the Methodist Church. He tried to live a true Christian life. He was married twice. In 1878 he and Miss Tyce were united in marriage. Three children blessed their home Mr. Bud E. Gann, Mrs. Clemie Woodruff and Mrs. Lula Stanton, who died a few years ago. More than thirty years ago he moved his family to Texas. He first settled at Itasca, next three miles north of Maypearl, then near Waxahachie going from there to Anderson's Ranch and coming from that place to his present homestead. His first wife died December 1912. Five years later he married Mrs. Hattie Stephens. Mr. Gann was a man who made many friends. He never had a law suit or a fight. He was a real neighbor in the various communities in which he lived. He is survived by his wife, two children Mrs. Woodruff, B.E. Gann, a number of step-children and grandchildren. His wife, children and friends can not bring back him, but they can go to him. The funeral will be held in the Methodist Church, April 1st. at 2 p.m. by the pastor. The following men will serve as pallbearers: R.M. Brigman, S.F. Stevenson, W. D. Wilemon, Ervin Stevenson, H.S. Brindley and E.B. Cornwell.

His name is Marion Fedrick Gann. Both of these names are middle names of Claude Marion Gann (Buster) and Carl Fedrick Gann. Two of his grandsons.
