BROCKWAY
Sarah McElhany, wife of Martin Brockway, died at their home in Denmark on Saturday, February 24, 1912, in her 70th year. She was married to Martin Brockway on December 12, 1866, they living in Washington township, Des Moines County, until 1873, when they moved to Denmark, where they have since resided. The funeral was held Monday, with services at the home; interment in Fairview Cemetery.

Sarah Jane Brockway, beloved wife of D.M. Brockway, died at the home in Denmark, Lee County, Iowa, Saturday, February 24, 1912, at 1:30 p.m. from pneumonia; aged 69 years, 5 months, and 25 days. Sarah Jane McElhany was born in Pennsylvania, coming to Iowa at an early age with her parents. She was married to D.M. Brockway on December 12, 1866. Practically all her married life was spent in Denmark. Besides the husband, there survived her a son, Charles G. Brockway of Denmark, and two brothers, James McElhany of Rogers, Ark., and John A. McElhany of Wichita, Kansas. The McElhany family are well remembered in Burlington, their home for many years. Mrs. Brockway's fatal illness was of short duration, she being sick but a few days. The funeral was held Monday, February 26, with services at 1 o'clock p.m., by the Rev. Lyman at the Congregational Church in Denmark, of which Mrs. Brockway was a long time member. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery. John A. McElhany, of the two brothers who are the only survivors of the McElhany family of four sisters and five brothers, was present at the funeral.
