Army Spc. James "Jamie" Wolf was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 52nd Engineer Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado as an engineer. He was in a convoy in Mosul when an improvised explosive device was detonated.
Jamie loved the Army and was so proud to be a soldier; he knew it was going to be a good life for him. While in Iraq, he was working on housing for U.S. soldiers and Iraqi citizens.
In October Jamie came home on a 15-day leave. One day he put on his desert fatigues and spent two hours talking to a classroom full of students. He wanted to thank the elementary school children who had sent him letters in Iraq.
Born in Spokane Washington, Jamie moved with his family to Scottsbluff Nebraska in 1987.
Jamie participated in track and choir during high school. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
More than 400 people attended Jamie's funeral at St. Agnes Catholic Church where his parents were presented his Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

I didn't know Jamie or his family. He moved to my hometown of Scottsbluff Nebraska the year I graduated and left. But I feel a special bond with him because we graduated from the same High School.
I can not thank Fan of the Site enough for letting me take over Jamie's memorial. Thank you.
