He was a Republican from Massachusetts. He also served as 13th Secretary of Commerce under President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953-1958. Born Charles Sinclair Weeks, his father was John Weeks, a United States Representative from 1905 to 1913, United States Senator from 1913 to 1919, and Secretary of War from 1921 to 1925. He was a graduate of Harvard University and served in the National Guard during World War I.
