Del Norte Prospector dated December 26, 1941
On Thursday the 18th of December, the friendly spirit of one of Del Norte’s beloved citizens passed on to its maker. Mrs. Rena McFadzean was born at Tuscola, Michigan on March 26, 1872 and died in the Albuquerque hospital December 18, 1941. She was married to Dr. John McFadzean at Nehawka, Nebraska in 1895 and the young couple established a home almost immediately in Del Norte.
Mrs. McFadzean continued studying at the Presbyterian College of the Southwest here in Del Norte and from this association sprang much pleasure and many fine contacts.
Three children, a son Neil, two daughters, Jean—now Mrs. Arthur Bond, and Flora—now Mrs. Bryce McQuarrie, were Mrs. McFadzean’s first interest.
She sang soprano in the church choir for twenty-five years.
