Dr. James Wesley Ouzts, 74, of Cleveland passed away Novmber 17, 2011 in Oxford MS. Dr. James Wesley Ouzts was born April 21, 1937, in Indianola MS to Felix Donald Ouzts and Francis Geneva Hodges. He married Florence Uguccioni in Adrian MI, December 30, 1967. Dr. Ouzts received a Bachelors degree from Delta State University; Masters degree from the University of Mississippi and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University. He is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. He earned the status of Professor Emeritus at Delta State University in Cleveland. Upon retirement, Dr. Ouzts loved playing the harmonica and enjoyed old time radio shows. He was certified as an occupation hearing conservationist. He received a diploma in Jewish- Christian Studies from the Institute of Jewish Christian Studies. He is preceded in death by his father, Felix Donald Ouzts; mother, Francis Geneva Hodges; and brothers, Dr. Johnny Drew Ouzts and Jessie Donald Ouzts. He is survived by his wife, Florence Uguccioni Ouzts of Cleveland MS; son, James Wesley Ouzts, Jr. (Lisa) of Madison MS; daughters, Katherine Elizabeth Ouzts of Oxford MS, Dr. Ruth Margene Moore (John) of Savannah GA and Mary Virginia Bragg (Dustin).
