Michael James Fox was born October 8, 1948, in Omaha, Neb., the son of Charles E. and Dorothy L. (Wilson) Fox. He passed away on Tuesday morning, November 15, 2011, at his home in Farragut, Iowa, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 7 days.

Mike grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1966. Following high school he served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He later attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for four years.

Mike attended the Congregational United Church of Christ in Farragut and was an active member of the Fremont County Democratic Party. He enjoyed gardening, recycling and designing things.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Fox, of Shenandoah, Iowa; brothers and sisters, Lynda Fox and her husband, Greg, of Howell, New Jersey, Lorraine Pannhof, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mark Fox, of Council Bluffs, Martin Fox, of Council Bluffs, Ann Fox, of Shenandoah, Iowa; a nephew, Scott Pannhof, of Council Bluffs; a niece, Susan Peterson, of Council Bluffs; great niece and nephew, Andrew and Ashley Peterson, of Council Bluffs; along with many other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Farragut, Iowa. Burial will be in the Garner Township Cemetery, near Council Bluffs, at a later date. Visitation with the family will take place from 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Farragut. Memorials are suggested to the Congregational United Church of Christ in Farragut.
