GRAFTON'S "JOE THE BARBER"
Joseph "Joey" Anderson, 96, a lifelong resident of Grafton, died Wednesday at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain after a short illness.
He was a barber for more than 70 years. He became a barber when he was 14 years old. He retired in 1985. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Grafton. He enjoyed gardening and was known for his knowledge of Grafton's history.
Survivors include his sons James of Grafton and Donald at home; three grandsons; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1990; a grandson in 1975; three brothers; and five sisters.
Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Blackburn Funeral Home, 1028 Main St., Grafton. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Assumption Catholic Church, 1033 Elm St., Grafton. The Rev. Frank G. Bartnikowski, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Grafton.
