Nathan Atkinson (son of Thomas P Atkinson and Flora Wingfield) was born 1790 in Georgia, and died 1855. He married Polly Parker on May 28, 1813 in Greene County, Georgia.

From Atkinson Family History by Archibald Atkinson, dated 3/3/1879. Archibald says his grandfather Nathan Atkinson had a brother named Thomas, sister Betsy. The three of them went to Georgia together. Thomas married twice, raising his family in Morgan County GA. "Thomas Atkinson married his 2nd wife and raised one son who was younger than John. His name was Nathan. He raised a large family of sons and daughters in Greene County and died there. He had sons James, John, and Lemuel."

Greene Co Book of Wills, p. 192 STATE OF GEORGIA, GREENE COUNTY. 21 July 1855, will of Nathan Atkinson, deceased.
Every item off property to be sold for the kindness shown me and attention I have received, I give to my two daughters, Besty Atkinson and Mary Atkinson, all that I may own, have, or possess. Appoint friend J.W. Godkin to direct and Isaac Morrison and Mary Atkinson executors. Wit.: James Dolvin, R.C. Bowden, John G Oliver, Isaac Jackson. Recorded 5 July 1850. Eugenius L. King, Ordinary.
