Margaret Jane Willett Boardman was the daughter of Edward S. Willett and Elizabeth McChesney Willett.

She married Frank Boardman on November 19, 1861 in Albany, NY.

Margaret & Frank had five children: Emma Boardman 1863-1912; Frank Hamilton Boardman 1864-1943; Horace Freeman Boardman 1867-1892; George Boardman, Sr., 1868-1914; and Lottie Willett Boardman 1875-1875 (died in infancy).

The funeral of Mrs. Frank Boardman, a former well known resident of this city, was held Tuesday from the residence of her son. Frank H. Boardman, of the firm of George Boardman & Brothers of Albany. Interment was In Albany Rural Cemetery. Mrs. Boardman was found dead from heart trouble Saturday, her 86th birthday, in her room in the house of her grandson, Dr. Willard H. Spear of Sherman, Chautauqua County. She had apparently been in her usual good health and had gone to her room after eating breakfast. Mrs. Boardman lived on Tenth Street, in this city for many years while her husband conducted the grocery store of George Boardman & Brothers on River Street. She attended Oakwood Avenue Presbyterian Church. The survivors are her son, Frank H. Boardman of Albany; her daughter, Mrs. A. W. H. Spear of Sherman; a grandson, Dr. Willard H. Spear, and a granddaughter. Mrs. Cecil F. Seitz, wife of City Engineer Seitz of Buffalo.
