Norma J. Whitaker Cooper, wife of Charlie Cooper, passed into the arms of Jesus on Monday November 21, 2011 at the Harrison Memorial Hospital after a courageous seven year battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlyle Whitaker and Stella Cason Whitaker and by one brother, Charles "Fuzzy" Whitaker.
Other survivors include three children,, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was longtime owner of Cooper Wholesale, a passionate Sunday School teacher, a lover of young people, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cynthiana for almost 70 years.
Visitation will be Friday November 25, 2011 from 4-9 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. A celebration of her life will also be at the church on Saturday November 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. led by Rev. James Owens and Pastor Chuck Cooper.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or the Daybreak Community Church of Lexington or Hindman United Methodist Church.
