Fall at Lake Causes Death of Blackport
Henry C. Blackport, 35, of 891 Sheridan Ave. SW, died Monday in Butterworth hospital of injuries received Saturday when he slipped from a dock at Whitefish Lake, striking his head on the lake bottom in the shallow water. He and Mrs. Blackport were attending a picnic.
For the last 17 years Blackport had been employed as assistant foreman in the machine room of the Luce Furniture company. Besides the widow, he is survived by two children, Arthur Duane, 8, and Corynn Sue,6.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the First Protestant Reformed Church, with burial in Restlawn Cemetery.
