James Arthur "Jim" Kappele was born to Eleanor and Arthur Kappele. From the time he was young, he was adventourous. He flew planes at a very young age. He attended the Army Air Force Acedemy and became a pilot and joined the Allied Forces in World War II. He flew a B26 Maurader in his pilot role. His plane was shot down over Italy late in the War and was after flying many flights over Germany.

He was taken prisoner and was made a prison in Stalig 1 in Germany. He was released by the Allies at the end of the War. Regretfully, the scars and rememberances of the War stayed with him during his later life.

Upon returning to civiliam life in Cleveland, he married his sweetheart, Louise Hawk, and together they bore four wonderful children, Arthur, Janice, Lois and Jeff. He was very proud of his family.

He and Louise spent many years together and became aclimated to "old age and retirement".

Jim will always be remembered by all as a very gentle, but firm man.

He and Louise and resting together, peacefully.
