He was born on Feb. 15, 1918 in Hersey to Carl G. and Beryl E. (Martin) McKinstry. He married Ila Lue Gittins on June 28, 1952 in Pinconning.
Mr. McKinstry was a lifelong Evart area resident. He worked at Evart Products for 28 years, retiring in 1981. He farmed his entire life until his vision failed him. Mr. McKinstry was a member of the Sears Church of God and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
He loved baseball and was an avid Tigers fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lyle McKinstry; and sister-in-law, Donna (McLachlan) McKinstry.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Rev. Dick Latham, pastor of Sears Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
