*Civil War veteran...Grand Army of the Republic. 142nd New York infantry, Co. C. Age 18 years, enlisted August 25, 1862, at Louisville, New York, to serve three years. Mustered in as private, Co. C, September 29, 1862; died January 11, 1864, in Hilton Hospital, South Carolina.
The VA shows him as being buried in Beaufort National Cemetery, South Carolina - Section 26 Site 2423. So the headstone in Calvary Cemetery could be a memorial.
