Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Robert Darnell Champion Jr. of Decatur, GA were held Wednesday, November 30, 2011, Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur, GA, Rev. Jerry D. Black, Pastor, Officiating. Entombment, Washington Memorial.

Robert was a Drum Major with the famed Florida A&M University Marching 100.

Mr. Champion leaves to cherish his memories, parents, Pamela and Robert Champion Sr.; sisters, LaTisha and Brittany Champion; grandmother, Ann Sutton and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing was held at Willie A. Watkins Special Event Center, 5843 Redan Road, Lithonia.

His death was later ruled a homicide, due to alleged hazing.

It was announced that 13 individuals will be charged in Robert Champion's death. The charges come more than five months after his death. Detectives say Robert died from shock caused by severe bleeding after he was hazed. State Prosecutor Lawson Lamar announced the filing of charges against 13 individuals, stemming from that tragic incident. The majority of those charges are hazing resulting in death, felonies of the third degree.
