Walter Rahner Prier
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 24, 1999, in St. Pius X Catholic Church for Walter Rahner Prier, who died May 19 at age 89. A recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 23, in Pegg, Paxson & Springer Chapel in Beaverton.
Mr. Prier was born Jan. 21, 1910, in Portland. He graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School. He began working at Oregon Brass Works as a young man and later became president of the company. He and his friend Harry Crook established Oregon Manufacturing Co. in the mid-1960s and later Pull-it Corp., from which Mr. Prier retired in the early 1980s. He was a member of St. John Fisher Parish. In 1943, he married Lucina Lammers; she died in 1997.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth of Portland, and four grandchildren. His son Joe died in 1988.
Vault interment will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to St. Mary's Home for Boys in Beaverton.
