John Irvin Boggs

Haw River - John Irvin Boggs, 69, of 105 S. Spray Place died at 3:04 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Verteran's Administration Hospital in Durham.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Betty Riles Boggs, who survives, and sone of John Henry and Betty Hancock Boggs, both deceased. He was a former member of Haw River Fire Department and a member of Haw River Christian Church.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include one sone, J. Clinton Boggs of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Garland (Ione) Johnson and Mrs. James (Helen) Jacoby, both of Haw River, and one grandchild.

THe funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Haw River Christian Church by the Rev. James Rosser, pastor, and the Rev. Phil Hardy, pastor of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ. The body will be placed in the church today at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.

The family will be a the church from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance/Caswell, 1713 Edgewood Ave., Burlington, 27215.
