Marie "Ione" Funk was born January 28, 1912, in Viola, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Jennie (Ellis) Willmott. She graduated from Central City High School and married Howard Maxwell Funk on February 27, 1937, in Central City, Iowa. Howard passed away June 9, 1980.
Ione was a homemaker with a huge farmer's heart; always willing to help anyone in their time of need. She loved planting in her garden every year and would be happy as long as she was burning gas-whether in a car, truck or tractor-she always loved to drive.
She was a member of the Center Point United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Donna) Funk of Vinton; grandchildren, Steven Funk, Michael Funk, Kristin (Greg) Hallberg and Jeffery (Monica) Funk; 12 greatgrandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; her brother, Richard (Arlene) Willmott; and two sisters, Darlene Lerch and Donna Peacock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Jennie Willmott; brother, Charles "Merle" Willmott; and a sister, Dorsie Wright.
