DEMSKI-PHALIN, Mary Jane of Midland, Michigan. Passed away on November 8, 2011, Our mother's soul and spirit moved to a new home with our Lord, her famous jokes and love of life will be sadly missed.
She was born in Pinconning on October 14, 1922 to the late Arthur and Violette (Greenbird) Briggs.
She was a member of St. Agnes Church in Sanford, Michigan. She enjoyed her trips to the casinos, reading crocheting, needle point and heirloom quilting.
She is survived by her husband Harry J. Phalin whom she married in May of 1997 in Florida.
Her children: Rosalie A. and Gary Shann, Ramona and Jerry Wiescinski, Charlotte Kay and Paul Kukla and Mary Jo Popiolek. Their father Joseph Ziolowski preceded her in death;
11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; a step son Bruce Phalin;
five step children: George Demski, Jr. Joel Demski, Mary, Martha and John Demski. Their father preceded her in death,
also surviving is a sister, Patricia and Donald Berthiaume. She was predeceased by Ed Briggs, Margaret Bloomingburg, Helen LaBarge, Ila Piotrowski and Elizabeth "Betty" Wizorek and Deann Wiescinski.
Memorial Mass will be held Friday, November 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. from St. Agnes Catholic Church, 2500 N. West River Rd., Sanford, Michigan with Rev. Fr. James Hast presiding with
inurnment in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Southern Care Hospice. A special thanks to John of Southern Hospice for fulfilling a distraught families wishes in getting our mother home, and to Huron Woods Nursing Home.
