John Whipkey
New Freeport resident
John Whipkey, 90, of Aleppo Road, New Freeport, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in his home.
He was born May 16, 1917, in Greene County, a son of Sam and Frances Whipkey.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Whipkey; two daughters, Betty (Gwin) Banks of Ohio and Janice (Ron) Hastings of West Virginia; a stepdaughter, Bonnie (John) Manning of New Jersey; two sons, Johnny Whipkey and Gary (Rhonda) Whipkey, both of Pennsylvania; a brother, Stoy (Twila) Whipkey of Cameron, W.Va.; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He also will be greatly missed by Janet Riley and Joseph Wood, who resided with him.
Deceased are a son, Sammy Whipkey; two sisters, Lena and Freda; three brothers, Fred, Warren and Paul; and two infant sisters.
