Johann 'John' Adam Stephan was born on April 5, 1805 in Lampertheim, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt. His father Adam Stephan b1775 was 30 yrs old and his mother Elizabetha Schlappner was 28. He married Elizabeth Morgen Stephan in Lampertheim in 1830. Adam & Elizabeth had four sons and four daughters together between the years 1832 and 1850. We know his 1st born Dau: Catherine was born in New York in 1832 so they must have immigated shortly before. His 1st wife Elizabeth died in Scotland Co, Missouri in late 1867 (Another Stephan immigrated to Adams Co, Penns in 1832 also that Included his Great Uncle Adam Steffan b1778 & my G/grandfather Adam Stephan b1813) So Adam b1805 & Adam b1813 were 'Cousins' & no doubt grew up together in Lampertheim, Germany. He then married Mary A. 'Maria Anna' Hover in 1870 in Kansas. He died in January 1875 in Kickapoo, Kansas, at the age of 69. Another Cousin William Stephan was living over in Neosho Co, Kansas some 200 miles away. see Mem #80206776
