Zeruah Hutchins was, according to Seth Cooley Cary's book on Cary family history titled "John Cary the Plymouth Pilgrim", married to Joseph Cary,son of Benjamin and Thankful of RI, in Killingly CT on Jan 8, 1772.
Zeruah was Joseph's second wife. His first wife Ruth Carew, died two weeks after the death of their third child in 1769.
Zeruah and Joseph's first child, a son named Joseph, was born in August of 1773.They moved to Plainfield CT and had four more sons and two daughters before moving to Richfield NY with several of their children and their families.
Zeruah died in 1828,ten years after her husband Joseph, and was buried with him, her son Ezra and many grandchildren in the hillside cemetery near their farm in Otsego County NY.
