Services for Carl Weldon "Curly" Avery, 72, of Lubbock will be at 4 p.m. today in Sanders Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gaylon Wiley officiating.
Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, March 19, 2002.
He was born March 5, 1930, in Memphis, Texas. He graduated from Three Way High School in 1947. He married Christine Kelley on Sept. 6, 1947, in Maple. She died Nov. 10, 1979. He was a farmer and a contract mail carrier.
He was a longtime resident of Morton, a member of the First Baptist Church in Morton and was a past president of the Lions Club of Morton.
