Harry was born in Illinois and was youngest child to cross the Rocky Mountains on the Northern Route of the Northern Pacific RR after it opened in 1883. He farmed and ranched near Pine City, Washington. He was photographer and an artist with rock and driftwood. His first wife was Ruby Harwood from St. John, WA. They had one daughter, Amber Bach who married Mark Hanna. After Ruby died, he married Gertrude Penman and had a daughter, Florence.
