RAVENSWOOD – Virginia Opal Amos Amos, 76, formerly of Dunbar, went to be with the Lord and joined her family and friends who were waiting there for her Nov. 18, 2003. She died at her current residence, Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, after an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Richwood, daughter of the late David Clarence and Bina Jane Stull Amos. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George William Amos Jr.; and her three brothers, Carl, Alonzo and Charles.

She was a graduate of Richwood High School and was a homemaker. She lived in Dunbar over 50 years until her illness.

She is survived by children, Carol Jean Ashworth and husband, Steve, of Ravenswood, David W. “Butch” Amos and wife, Debbie, of Alexandria, Va., Ruth Ann Stone and husband, Steve, of Charleston, Linda Sue Jividen and husband, Gerald of Vienna, Virginia Ellen Vogel and husband, John, of Defiance, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Doyle Young officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
