Stephen Elrod was born June 7, 1877, and departed this life, August 20, 1911, aged 34 years, 2 months, and 13 days. He was joined in the bonds of matrimony to Sarah Abbott, August 25, 1911*. To this union was born four children, two boys and two girls, Harold, Ethel, Helen and Bernice.
He leaves a father, mother, two brothers, two sisters, wife and four children and a host of friends to mourn their loss. His father , mother and brother, who now live in Wyoming, arrived just a few hours before his death.
His funeral was conducted at Olive Branch church last Monday morning by Rev. Scott Applegate assisted by Rev. Boston. A large crowd attended. His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjoining the church.
