Mrs. Norma Durrence James
67, of Charlotte passed away December 1, 1997, at her residence.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McEwen Pineville Chapel with Rev. Elmer Wilson and
Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family
will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at McEwen Pineville Chapel.

Mrs. James was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Tattnall County, GA, a daughter of the late John
McLean and Martha Swindell Durrence, and was a longtime active member of The Charlotte First Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are her husband, Julius Erving James, Sr.; sons, Edward James and wife, Donna, of Charlotte, J.E. James, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Nolensville, Tenn.; grandsons, Derek, Brandon and Ryan James of Charlotte; sisters, Kathryn Baxter and Joyce Todd of Georgia; and brothers, Cyril Durrence and Willie Durrence of Georgia.

Mrs. James was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters. Mrs. James will be missed by a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Charlotte First Church of the Nazarene
