Billy Marion Carpenter died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, after a brief illness at the age of 89. Celebration of life: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. Dr. James Scirratt of First Baptist Arlington will officiate. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Billy served in the Navy in World War II as a machinists mate first class. He retired from the Texas Employment Commission as a tax auditor in 1987. Prior to working for TEC, he worked for Armour Meat Packing Plant for over 25 years. He was also a 50-year member of the Grand Council Royal & Select Masters of Texas.
Survivors: He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Carpenter of Fort Worth; son, Billy Steven Carpenter and wife, Donna, of Weatherford; grandchildren, Latisha Rowland and husband, Chris, Stephanie Carpenter and Christopher Carpenter, all of Weatherford; brother, Johnnie Carpenter and wife, Jewell, of River Oaks; and great-grandchildren, Sophie and Chloe Rowland of Weatherford.
