Rose Jane Giles, 96, of 689 Alden St., Meadville, a homemaker, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1993, at Meadville Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Adrian, Pa., July 21, 1897, a daughter of Jacob Arthur and Anna Jane Lasher Tarr. She married Sheridan A. Giles, March 31 1915. He survives. She was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors in addition to her husband, include four sons, Russell S. Giles of Conneautville, A. Grant Giles of Saegertown, Robert D. Giles of Meadville, and Herbert Giles of Linesville; two daughters, LuAnna Hart of Linesville and Sara Corey of Linesville; a sister, Nellie Schaub of Templeton; 21 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, LaRue M. Giles; a brother; and two sisters. A funeral will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Byham-Miller-Mizner Funeral Home, 404 Chestnut St., Meadville. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County, Center Road, Linesville.
