MR. ZIPPERER PASSES AT HOME

Well Known Resident of County Dies at Home at Twin Lakes This Morning; Rites Will Be Held

James Robert Zipperer, 76, died at his home at Twin Lakes this morning after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services are to be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the Lake Park cemetery. Elder Charlie Hiers and Elder Charlie Vickers will conduct the services.
The body will remain at McGowan-Giddens Funeral Home until the hour of the funeral.
Survivors are his widow; a son, J. R. Zipperer, Jr.; three brothers, Ed, J. Zipperer, of Twin Lakes, O. T. Zipperer, of Lake Park, and Tony Zipperer, of Manatee, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. I. S. Wisenbaker, of Valdosta, and Mrs. Laura Kinsey, of Jennings, Fla.
Mr. Zipperer was stricken ill about three years ago. For the past nine months he has been in a serious condition.
Mr. Zipperer was born in Lowndes county and spent all of his life here. He was highly regarded by all who knew him.
The family, following out Mr. Zipperer’s wishes, has rquested that no flowers be sent. Before his death he remarked that he would prefer that those who might think of sending flowers take the money they would have to spend in that way and give it to the poor.
He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for many years and by his kindly nature and unassuming manner won the respect of all whom he came in contact.
He spent nearly all his life at Twin Lakes.
